Get Organized and Be More Productive Month

January 2023

Happy New Year!

Did you know that the month of January is...

"Get Organized and Be More Productive Month?"

Yes indeed - an entire month for you to consider what you might do differently this year to be more productive and organized and how you will achieve your goals for the year.

Each year, (except for 2020 and 2021 - thank you COVID) Rob and I go away for a week - where we can focus on the future - instead of focusing on the daily operations of Eliminate Chaos and working with our clients.

This Strategic Planning week is so beneficial for us to plan the goals we want to reach for the coming year and have a road map we can follow for what we want to accomplish.

You may have noticed that I've not written too many newsletters the past couple of years - and that was intentional. Instead, I spent my time I would spend on writing and recording videos as well as other activities and I went to school for two years to become a coach. It was one of the most difficult things I have ever accomplished - more challenging even than when I went to grad school - which I opted to not complete - and instead start this business 23 years ago.

I share this with you because you can only do so much in a 24 hour period, each week, month or even a year. I had to take a serious look at where I was focusing my time - and what was "most important" at the time so that I still had the energy and bandwidth to work with our clients and our team. It doesn't matter how "organized and productive" you are - you can't do it all.

In the coaching work I now do with business owners, employees at various companies and even some individuals, there seems to be a similarity of "wanting to get stuff done" - but not focusing on what is "most important." Everyone is busy - and it's easy to tackle the things that take the least amount of time, or are simple - but does that move your forward to accomplishing your goals for the year (I am assuming you set some, right?).

It's not too late to do this for 2023.

I suggest some focus, quiet time, without the use of screens. Good old fashion pen and paper works well for this activity while you are brainstorming with yourself - or others on your team. Once you've identified your goals, you can map them out for the year and put them into a digital system to refer to and to plan them into your schedule.

During this focus time, I recommend considering what you will "no longer do" or what you can "delegate." We all have "To-Do" lists, but a "Won't-Do" list is equally important.

If goal-setting, planning, prioritizing, and task management is not "your thing" - or if you need someone to work with on your goals for 2023 as an accountability partner, I would be delighted to speak with you. We can explore how working together might be just what you never knew you needed to move your forward to accomplishing the next big goal.

Over the holidays, I received a delightful "thank you" from one of my coaching clients; who said: "Your expertise has been so valuable to me! These sessions helped me get to the point of accomplishment. I feel I will start 2023 with a clear picture."

I could not be happier that this client achieved her goals we worked on during the past year and she got very clear on her business.

What will you be able to achieve in 2023 with a clear road map of working daily towards your most important goals?

Wishing you purposeful productivity and sustainable organization.
